Relaunch of Making Sacred

When I began Making Sacred, I had four young children, having just given birth to my fourth. I was deep in the land of pregnancy, birth and parenting. So that was the main focus of my blog and offerings. Eight years on I am in a very different space!

Still mothering intensely but in the realm of older children and teenagers (a whole new world)!

I had the honour of holding space for my eldest daughters class last year, sharing Moon Circle for Mothers and Maidens. A circle about the cycles and seasons of life. The mothers share about their Menarche (first period) and what they’ve learned from having their cycle over the years. It’s a really special time, and was even more special to share it with my daughter.

How our maiden’s are received at their Menarche greatly affects their relationship to menstruation for the rest of their fertile years and beyond. It creates an imprint, just like birth does. So what we say, do and mirror to them at this time is vitally important.

So what’s next?

It feels the perfect time to bring Blessing the Maiden, a guide to ceremonies, rituals and practices to welcome the maiden in your life at this momentous rite of passage.

The guide covers every kind of welcome, a group gathering, a gathering for two, and if your maiden is not one for ceremony, there are ideas on how to acknowledge them with a moon time box, that they can enjoy whenever they like.

The guide also has information about the cycles, seasons, a story, an invitation and beautiful photographs for inspiration.
